AT A CROSSED ROAD

Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke

Notice of absence from Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke
I will surely get back to you when I come online.

Today, here I stand,
Behind me stood a shadow,
Tall and short,
Her beauty radiates like star.

I'm on a crossed road,
Trying to find my route
to her heart,
Her character makes me her slave.

She is a rare gold
and her heart
a mining port,
I'm cock sure, she is my Nkem.

Don't push me away,
When all that matters is you
She stole my heart,
From the day we crossed path.

The network to her heart
seems busy,
My GPRS keeps navigating,
The connection lies in her heart.

Every night seems like a decade,
The thought of her
races through my heart,
I smile sheepishly at the re-echoing of her voice.

Fate won't be fair
If her sweet voice eludes my being,
Together, we can journey to the stars
And let our enemies weep forever.
