Walks

Miss_Dreamer

My mind wanders away with me

Seemingly inconspicuous

While holding me in a death grip

So tight it leaves marks on my skin

Sometimes dripping with blood

Other times only half moons remain

Red like a blood moon

An ill sign of the time to come

Because it walks me down dark paths

Once overgrown

It's now a clear path ahead

Deeper and deeper into the inky black

Until I can't see a way out anymore

The tendrils of my mind hold on tighter

As I cling to it for guidance

It whispers to me that soon this will end

If I just surrender myself to it

A wave of relief washes over me

I've been walking for so long

I can't do this anymore

In front of me I can sense the void

Just one more step my mind whispers

And you won't have to wander any longer

Only one more step

And all of this will end

One more step

And I can finally stop walking

"only one more step and I can finally stop walking" A line to think about. Nicely written.
