A Come to Jesus Moment

Gloria Denise

I am so confused

I don’t know what’s right

but I damn sure know what’s wrong

I don’t know which issue to fight

But you can’t do the same things and expect no harm

have no expectations

well that’s easier said than done

Just trying to start my life

but they say it has already begun

Between my flesh, the devil, and this world

the daily battle is rough

are you deep in your word?

haven’t you had enough?

Has your father not prepared you?

Cause the battle is now?

What are you getting into?

Is your head still in the clouds?

we’ve been here many times

and I know it’s been tough

just put your will to the side

Do you need someone to call your bluff?

I know you believe

so why do you let them shake you?

you say: but it won’t happen for me

Look around, are you sure you’re grateful

put your hand on your heart

that beat is all the answers you need

that God hears your prayers

and he promises to never leave

Help me, Father!

Make this all make sense

Cause I have all these wants

and even bigger things to repent

He’ll clear your head

and your path

Give him the control

Only he sees the whole map

Are you still confused?

Not as much anymore.

some advice…

Let God set the expectation.

He knows what you can endure.

The last two lines are really on it, Gloria! Thanks for the reminder.
