Out Loud

Introverted Sage

I want peace, ease, gentle with a breeze.
But everything in this life is sent to bring me to my knees.
When will I have a moment to breathe?
When I set my mind free?

Judgement and side eyes seem to dig into my pride.
Who I am and what you see is like a die with many sides.
Told me to hide. Everything I can to keep the me that is inside.

Take me away any chance they get.
Shining examples of the world and why I chose not to deal with it.
Not how it was meant?
Keep me strong, all along, not building walls just mending fences.
But the world attacks, the minute I turn my back, sending out all my defenses.
Blockades an rained out parades I know deep down, this is not how I was made.
Temper the flares, dance with the tigers and make them behave.
Ride the waves, keeping evil staved that's how I'll be saved?

Pick, pick, pick, what's left of me apart.
Heaven knew it would be like this from the start.
Mending some of these fences - has taken such a toll on my heart.
Share my mind, said it's my time. I 've got some wisdom to impart.
