Lake of Tears

anabella151

In the middle of a lake sits a woman.

She awaits you every night. She’ll wait all day and all night.

You do not know her.

You cannot see her.

She still waits

Patiently,

Longingly.

For what reason should she wait

In this lake?

Maybe,

You do know her,

But you cannot acknowledge her.

For this lake is all but her own.

A lake of despair.

She claws at you.

She wails, “ Look at me, look at me!”

You cannot see her,

Hear her,

Be near her,

Know her,

And that is what hurts the most.

Being ignored is one of the hardest things to endure. I hear the anguish in this piece.

Not to be acknowledged by the object of one's passion is the definition of Hell. Good write.
