Memories We Shared

tkatie118

Standing inside a golden ray,
Your starlight gaze
Your warm embrace
Outshines the pain
Some words, they say,
Burn out the flame
Your hands may shake,
And if you break
Through it, we’ll find a way

Oh, where do the days go?
Why, when you’re young,
Does it feel as though the clocks move slow?
Time, I wish we could turn back,
And then I would,
Move free flow slow, and savour every moment we touch

Flipping through the books we would read,
You’d make believe,
The stories we’d see could become reality
I wanna see you through the good,
And the bad,
Sail away, and cherish all of the good times,
We had

Oh, where do the days go?
Why, when you’re young,
Does it feel as though the clocks move slow?
Time, I wish we could turn back,
And then I would,
Move free flow slow, and savour every moment we touch

Try to take it step by step,
Reflect upon the memories you left
Skip work, despite it being the wrong thing to do,
Not caring, though, ‘cause what’s more wrong,
Is not sharing new memories with you

Where are the memories we shared?
I see your soul in the light,
Even when you’re not there
Where are the memories we shared?
About you, I care

A great pairing of the concept of time passing rapidly in conjunction with that time spent with one that is loved. Very nice
