In the Clouds

MendedFences27

In the Clouds

Floating, not on water, but on clouds.

The joy is heart-lifting, profound.

There is no other sound

like the sound of clouds.

Lolling, not in a hammock, but in a cloud.

The peace is everlasting, serene.

There is no other scene

as peaceful as in a cloud.

Sleeping, not in a bed, but on a cloud.

The comfort is revitalizing, invigorating.

There is no other rest

like having slept on a cloud.

Walking, not on a pathway, but on a cloud.

The ease is stressless, undemanding.

There is no weightlessness

as that offered by the clouds.

Loving, not with her, but among the clouds.

The feelings are rich, enduring.

There is no other passion

like love among the clouds.

Best of all, there is no rain.

    Was it harp music?

  • Cassie58

The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams does this to me. It is a wonderful out of world feeling. Very nicely penned. Music is a great escape. Happy Saturday.

Thank you, Cassie58. It is amazing how some music can affect one in this way. It's a wonderful feeling.

Thank you, Dan. Joni's one of my favorites. By no means can I be mentioned in the same sentence as her, but Thanks again.

Such wonderful words Phil, I have often wondered what it would be like loving amongst the clouds.

There really is something kind of special about clouds isn't there .. and its good to know that I'm not the only one who finds inspiration from music and general observations .. I think many of my reviewing predecessors have stolen my thunder, but hey ho .. Neville

                • MendedFences27

Thank you, Neville. Sometimes if you get to a poem late there is nothing left to say. Just a brief comment is enough. Much appreciated.

                  • MendedFences27

Thank you, Teddy. Beauty is a second requirement for it to be poetry. Glad you found it thus.
