(7th poem)
That Night’s Dream
“Perfect Picture”
you laid so peacefully finally at rest
impressively looking your absolute best
your Lugaro, those polar bears they shine
in your best dress looking so sublime
your hair combed the way you always wore
those hairpins and scarf you adore
new heels to cover those feet
your outfit impressively complete
placed within your final fixture
you lay as a final perfected picture
exuding that beauty I’ve always known
the image of a loving and caring tone
lightly beige, the casket I bought
baby blue interior, the color I got
an inspirational visual view
replaying that last image of you

Surprise ending to this piece gives it a powerful impact. Nicely done
I try to write as if I am talking to her standing beside me, although she is dead. Talking to the image in my head, not to the reader. I guess that helps with the impacts. I guess I miss our conversations most.
The final image impressed forever, as perfect as you remember, so beautifully said. The sentiment gently and lovingly conveyed. A touching and very tender write dear poet!
