BROWN EYES

Adiba Khan

Brown eyes might be common

Blue eyes might be rare

But if you have brown eyes

Exquisite beauty you wear

Representing the mellow woods and the rich earth

Deep like carrying stories unheard

When brown eyes meet sunrays

Dropping honey glaze

These chocolate rings tend to mesmerize

Carrying the magic to hypnotize

Those unwavering gaze

Leaving one amazed

That one glance

Not wanting you to look away

Unfettered beauty of earth they portray.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I've always felt that brown eyes are underappreciated as they're most common out of all the eye colours. As someone who has brown eyes, I wrote this small piece of poetry to appreciate the beauty of brown eyes.

A wonderful view into the eyes of the common but spectacular. Color is only skin deep and in the eyes it is still only surface deep in the mirror of the soul. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
