(8th poem)
That Night’s Dream
“Roots”
Paris, that Montmartre 444 step trip
travelling to France’s southern tip
the beaches of Split, where you got burnt
your first equator lessons learnt
two Athens trips, for the latest fashions
experiencing the history, living our passions
Kíthnos and Kriti isles, then Balos beach
everywhere our finances could reach
to Barcelona for some architectural views
all these places, the memories with you
looking across to Canada’s eastern coast
Lisbon Portugal, you favored the most
shared moments of our travels together
the imagery, still surviving times weather
out of everything to each we had shown
the most meaningful, your childhood home
