Hot Water

anabella151

You are so very warm

Bringing rosy red to my cheeks

And color to my toes

You embrace my pillows

And radiate warmth

You banish my chills

As you swath me with comfort

But

You burn my scalp

with tiny scars

of scalding water

You turn my leg blotchy and red

An ugly pattern spreading all the way to my knees

You burn my eyes

with pinpricks of searing heat

And yet

I still love you and hope you stick around

For I am not able to withstand

the cold that come when you leave

So please

Stay with me

All things have their positives and negatives. It is a matter of which outweighs which. Nicely done.

About abuse, yes. I hope it's not based on experience. Good write.
