(10th poem)
That Night’s Dream
“How I Feel”
how do I feel without you in my life, without you by my side
about the needed moments that no longer exist since you died
the whispers in my ear when life worried and made me scared
those meaningful words that let me know how much you cared
the calling of my name to move, react, or for some assistance
how I obeyed your directions and orders without resistance
the sounds of wiping, mopping, sweeping, and the vacuum
distant noises of the kitchen, laundry, dining, and the bathroom
conversations of holidays, special events, and trips we had planned
or assisting with the grocery list when you needed it to expand
the audible words spoken aloud as you read your favorite books
the indications told through hand gestures and facial looks
the opening and closing of doors, re-actions when tempers flared
with all your sounds silenced alone mine are no longer shared
how do I feel without you in my life, with nobody in which to confide
empty, lonely, and depressed since the night you had died

Sad and moving a poem of loss and missing the one that is lost. Feelings of sorrow are portrayed here.
This is so poignant and sad, yet the wonderful memories you recount are so sweet and full of love. A beautiful write!
