Heaven

Laguna

Darkness embraced the crowd around us,
and the spotlight feigned the sun as it kissed our skin.
Your hand feels softer than it looks,
fingers intertwined with mine as if I'd drift away if you let go.

You ventured past my shell and straight into my soul as you looked to the side,
lost in your thoughts as the voices around us made up for your silence.

Darkness rained around us,
your hand squeezing me tighter as if to bring silence to the noise around us.
"You're special" you said when our eyes finally met each other again,
a moment that gave me a glimpse of heaven's sunlight.
