God’s Gifts

Cocamedo

Love is a thing I believed would came easy.
I always have followed my heart.
Sometimes in life it can lead you astray.
But that’s how I’ve gotten this far.

I have finally learned how to love myself.
Or at least I have learned how to start.
I have to let go of the doubts deep within me.
And not letting them tear me apart.

My faith in the heavens is growing.
My love for our God is immense.
Each day he has blessings and answers.
Some hidden and some are intense.

He shows me just how much I need him.
I call and he answers my prayers.
It’s crazy to think when you need it the most.
He loves, he forgives, and he cares.

My darling I spent all this time alone, thinking.
No video games, no drugs and no drinking.
Nothing to distract me from feeling.
Just journals and books to help me with healing.

I recognize the things that I need.
Not just the things that I want.
True love will always be in my top spot.
There’s no question, who is standing up front.

All of my family, the comfort of home.
There, all the times when I feel alone.
My children, the ones who give me a purpose,
Believe I’m a hero, whom I’ll be of service.

Standing beside them, a woman I cherish.
An angel that came from above.
Sunlight is shining, deep from within her
Showering me with her love.

Her patience, while thin, will last for all time,
Determined to be something great,
She sings along, the most beautiful song
Inspiring me to create.

Strong and resilient, bold and fierce
She stands up for what she believes
Intelligent, thoughtful, passionate also
She works hard, she always achieves.

Her beauty cannot be described,
Nothing can even compare,
The worlds greatest wonders, will never amount
To her smile or her baby hairs.

The grace that she shows to all that she knows,
Extending her hand, not turning her nose
She is a garden, brimming with life
No doubt that she would be a magical wife

You, my love are one of God’s gifts
A blessing each day, through and through.
I just wanted to tell you, thank you, for once
For being a wish that came true

I appreciate the deep sincerity of your piece. I am not religious, but your little poetic journey from focusing on yourself to adoring your angel is touching and lovely.
