Old School Vs Youngblood

Saleh Ben Saleh

Old school is no longer appreciated,

been made redundant,

is anticipated.

Youngblood’s heart is always on fire,

he wishes that old school,

would soon retire.

Youngblood expects to be a leader,

to take the position he’s all eager.

Old school's retirement,

is not yet expected,

for all his achievements,

he is highly respected.

Young blood is anxiously waiting his turn,

old schools position he needs to earn.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I had spent 16 years of my career as a senior manager and have witness first hand, many times, the struggle for power between junior employees and their everlasting desire to occupy "the manager position", regardless of their limited work experience.

Which is better the energy and enthusiasm of youth or wisdom and treachery of age.

For me my friend, "WISDOM", it is the greatest gift to mankind, after the gift of life.
It can't be bought or taught. Being energetic and ambitious is great, but they can't replace years of experience and gained wisdom.
Your point of view is highly respected.
      Thank you
