I LOVE YOU!
I don’t love the linguists
Of my nation
Or of the whole world.
They placed an exclamation mark
After “I love you,”
Like a lock
Craftsmen put
On a gate.
No, “I love you”
Endures no comma,
No period, no exclamation mark.
“I love you” means
I love you without fear of yesterday,
I love your dawn,
I love your pre-dawn origin,
I love your present, with everything,
I love your virtues and flaws.
“I love you” means
I love your future,
I love your death,
Beyond death, to infinity.
“I love you”
Endures no comma,
Endures no period.
That linguists’ period
Made a mess of the world,
With love marked by punctuation,
Bringing doubt,
Division, duplicity, exile,
Violence, abuse, punishment, reparation.
I love you,
I love you without comma, without period.

Stunning poetry. 🌹
A most wonderful statement. Yes love means loving all flaws and all. I won't expound more in that the poem states it all.
I honestly feel good that you read me! Thank you for your warm message!
