Tune: Crimond
('The Lord's my Shepherd')
Ecclesiastes 3 v.1-9
******
To all things there is a season
All has rhyme and reason
There is a time to each purpose
Under heaven to us
A time to be born, time to die
Time to plant, days go by
Time to pluck up what is planted
If that best advantaged
A time to kill, a time to heal
What works for out for good weal* (* i.e. well-being)
Time to break down, time to up build
Good purposes shall yield
A time to laugh, a time to weep
Things high, low, shallow, deep
A time to dance, a time to mourn
To all on this earth born
A time to cast away stones be
Time to gather stones free
Time to embrace, time to refrain
From embrace where it vain
A time to gain, a time to lose
Sincere, no trick or ruse
Time to keep, time to cast away
Whate'er is best the way
A time to rend, a time to sew
Through daily states to grow
Time to keep silence, time to speak
Graciously, humble, meek
A time to love, a time to hate
Where evil is in spate* (*i.e. a flood of evil)
A time of war, a time of peace
Theses seasons, times, ne'er cease
What profit be all this to man?
And yet he surely can
Live out life under God, for he
Our guide, strength, through life be

this reminds me so very much of something else .. and not a hymn poem .. very catchy ..
Thanks N.
We have limited time here. Your verses remind me to use our time wisely. Nicely penned Orchi. A happy Sunday to you and your long suffering other half 🙂
Thanks C. There's a time to be nice to Mrs Botox. I can't think when it was (or is). Probably 5 seconds in 2004 or something! lol.
This time Orchi you have picked one of my favorite scriptures. Nicely done as well.
A timely thank you SB.
Excellent.
Thanks Tom.
