america

rengoku

Notice of absence from rengoku
if I’m off I’m probably punching my bed in anger

little town of bethlehem

is like another silent night

the king of heaven has left his throne

and is sleeping in a manger tonight

tonight

Bethlehem you will go down in history

as city with no room for its king

while you were sleeping

wake up

for the bridegroom has returned

and has carried his bride away in the night

tonight

America  will we go down in history

as a nation with no room for its king

while we were sleeping

A very clever write. It starts out with well written lines that lead the reader in one direction while the last stanza points to another. So nicely done.
