Joy

Alan R

When I am cheerful

I am soon, sad

Why others can’t just

Leave my joy be

See me happy

With no questions asked

Profound fulfilment

Like merlot sits in a cask

Complete, peaceful, transforming

Perhaps, they sense

That that’s bigger than

Plain ol' joy...

....And they can’t sell that idea

In the narrow lanes

Of their fear driven markets.

You know, there are times when it’s good to be alone and happy in your own company. A nice poem of reflection Alan. Happy Tuesday.
