Letting you in

Natalie Heisey

I can't let you in again, you ripped my soul apart, Left me shattered, broken, with a bleeding heart. You got lost somewhere else, left me in the dark, No way to replace the pain, no way to restart.

You fucked up my mind with all the games you played, Left me in ruins, in the mess you made. I won't let you in, not gonna fall again, This is my anthem, my final stand.

You twisted the knife, left scars I can't erase, Haunted by your shadow, can't escape this place. You tore me down, but now I rise, From the ashes of your lies, I’ll claim the skies.

You fucked up my mind with all the games you played, Left me in ruins, in the mess you made. I won't let you in, not gonna fall again, This is my anthem, my final stand.

Screaming out the pain, in every chord I play, Guitar strings cry, but I won't fade away. With every note, I reclaim my soul,

Rocking hard, I'm taking back control.

You fucked up my mind with all the games you played, Left me in ruins, in the mess you made. I won't let you in, not gonna fall again, This is my anthem, my final stand.

I can't let you in, no, never again,  This is my story, this is where it ends.  With every beat, I find my way,  Hardcore and free, I’ll live another day.

    That sounded real, good song.

Sounds of pain beat the percussion to this poem. The harmony is dissonant and I hear the screams of heavy metal.

A leopard doesn’t change its spots. A poem that has strength and healing in its lines. Once bitten …. Well penned. Happy Tuesday.
