Politics over nature

…..Ridiculously telling Japan to stop hunting whales, while the western world pollutes our seas with plastics, ridiculously ridiculed cause of their choice of foods, surely this socio-economic argument was engineered by Ebenezer Scrooge, masterfully making his opponents look like the ugly girl in Moulin rouge, or the bearded celly that’s ready to give it up without you asking; all the actual important stuff is off the table and wearing a masking, up until now its been political maneuvering around what people are asking, all the while, it’s the planet we’re trashing.

'all the actual important stuff is off the table' - not only masked but locked away.

Hypocrisy is the rule as is waste and laziness. Sad but true. Good write

In overall consumption and pollution, the United States with 4.25% of the world's population consumes the most, closely followed by China. Both countries have significant air pollution.
Those things that might help get rid of pollution usually cost too much for poor Americans to afford. There is a world-wide gap between the rich and poor.
And some things promoted environmentally are not good for the environment such as batteries for EVs. However, scientists are getting closer to finding batteries that are more compatible for safe environmental usage. Planting trees is great, but they need to be planted in the correct places. Some places natural grasses are a better environmental alternative such as in Siberia and parts of the American tundra. It's complicated and requires the entire world. Quite a sticky wicket.

That’s why we should be doing the most to turn things around
