The Flames of Love

MendedFences27

The Flames of Love

The flames of a heated love

can burn a heart to ashes

when a sudden wayward wind

feeds the flames as it passes.

When the heat of attraction is confined

the flames of love build desire

until two hearts are engulfed

and like a match, they spark a fire.

When contact creates combustion

loves flames quickly spread

and the hearts that it touches

begin to glow a fiery red.

When the flames of love

are extinguished

both are ashen, broken, and burnt.

Passions fires often burn hot and fast burning out in a hurry. Nicely written

Thank you, SB. Not all the time, some last forever.

Beautiful and so true, some last a lifetime, others end up in the cemetery of lost love. 🌹

Thank you, Teddy. Yes, such is what they call life. Where is this cemetery? I need to visit.

they say there's no smoke without fire but I have grown to dispute that hot potato and now wear nothing but asbestos undergarments, just to be on the safe side .. 🩲🔥 🙂

Thank you, Neville. I venture to say your undergarments won't protect your heart but may help if you drop that hot potato in your lap. Just trying to look on the funny side of life.

But the memories will never leave us Phil.
