Statuesque Statuette Statue

Beatrix M

Welting dams levee, cascading pearls down red cheeks, as the horizon sunset extinguishes another snuffed verse.

I am but a diamond encrusted chandelier, its crystals reflecting the dim light of my existence,
as I strain to catch the flickering glimmer of hope,
that defies the darkness that surrounds me.

Mnemonic palimpsest overwritten pages, my past reveal glimpses of a life lived, and dreams that died unseen.

My chest cavity is a dim mausoleum lightbulb, where the sarcophagus of my longing lies entombed, as I mourn its passing, the beauty of this moment follows, struggling for meaning in a world devoid of happiness.

Another day, another pool of joy, be a lake come winter, night descends as another bulb shatters, nocturnal eye-shine, not afraid of the dark, afraid of what it is turning me into.
