Rage reclaimed

Natalie Heisey

In the battlefield of love, we took our stand, You were the soldier, I was the band,Left me wounded, scars so deep, Now you're back, but my heart won't weep.

I'll be the bomb, you'll be the match,In this war of hearts, no strings attached, We'll set the night on fire, in this endless fight, Love's a battlefield, but I'll stand tonight.

You think you can use me, like a toy,But I'm a warrior, not your ploy, With every strum, I'll tell my tale, In this rock anthem, I will prevail.

In the chaos of our love, I found my voice,In the wreckage, I made my choice,To rise above, to stand and fight, In this war of hearts, I'll claim my right.

I'll be the bomb, you'll be the match,In this war of hearts, no strings attached, We'll set the night on fire, in this endless fight, Love's a battlefield, but I'll stand tonight.

As the final notes fade, and silence falls,In the echoes of our song, my rage calls I'll keep playing, through pain and fight In this rock ballad, I'll reclaim my life.

Loved it and read it a few times. Each time I felt the spirit of rebellion and resilience. Moreover, I am a bit retisence towards obtuse imagery as they obfuscate the message one wants to convey. The presentation of your poem seemed like straight from the heart. I enjoyed the beauty of the rawness. Advanced apologies if my interpretation is off.
