Summer of 24

Jasmine Swift

School was out. Rumors were in.

They never knew what the truth had been.

Another day, another taken right.

My haters don’t matter now that we talk every night.

You’re the reason I’m still here.

You’re the one who dried my final tear.

Now I realize what all the heartbreaks were for.

They were so I could have you and the summer of 24.

Do they think it’s wrong to be so happy?

They look at you strangely when they see you with me.

I finally found a pair of arms to be in.

How could it make us be guilty as sin?

I don’t care what they say about us.

We know the truth. We know who to trust.

This love we have is what I live for.

I hope it never ends. The summer of 24.

Romantic and happy is the mood. Nicely written.

Against all odds! Yes. Well written.
