Ennui

rrodriguez

Endlessly he walks the streets alone

nothing occupies his mind at all

nurturing a heart hard as a stone

Unendingly alone, that's his fall

Indifference caught him, and he moans.

  • Comment from author about the poem: As part of my poetry practice, I had to write a poem with the word ennui, which means: a feeling of listlessness and dissatisfaction arising from a lack of occupation or excitement. So I wrote the poem in an acrostic scheme that will illustrate the meaning of the word.
