Wiltshire Downs

Notice of absence from Thepoetman1234
THE GOAT

Gravel roads continue forever,

Past villages and farms to beyond.

Cattle eating green, green grass

and drinking from the duck pond

The Hedge continues on with lots of animals,

with berries and rabbits and bugs alike

the mounds, up and down, like a rollercoaster

crossing in and out of the evening bike

Then into the forest, deer country

and the wilderness, birds live free

the fresh air coming into the car

that air coming from the oak tree

Then we come back, back to country

Home sweet home, a listed home on God's green land

And opening the 16th century door straight to work

to work on the sheep that work my hand
