The number of times
The number of times over the years,
that both were brought down to tears.
Always involved just us without a doubt,
every time we helped each other let it out.
The number of times I had to leave your side,
for my job, knowing I was dedicated with pride.
Never stopping me from protecting our nation,
we both excepted the feelings of our separation.
The number of times we separated and reunited,
each return our passion was stoked and reignited.
From a distance I basked in your lights beams,
together we became the strongest of teams.
The number of times I won’t be able to hold you,
or look into those eyes of such beautiful blue.
My love for you will remain strong and forever last.
For the rest of my lonely life, I will review our past.

A longing and melancholic write. It provokes mixes feelings and general melancholy.
It depends how long I live as to how many times I review our past. The number of times, the count continues.
