The Smell Of Rain

Garth Rakumakoe

The unique pollen

in the smell of rain

serves to remind us

with each drop

kissing the skin

that we're all but little children

in the grander scheme of things;

Scatterlings of tiny specks

in the universe

of our differences

unconscious gullibilities

and disconnected fingers

      Beautiful poem. I like the earthiness of your writing. So natural, awakening and makes for a marvelous read.
