ONWU ELEBE IKE GI DI (DEATH WHERE IS THY STRENGTH)

Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke

Notice of absence from Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke
I will surely get back to you when I come online.

This painful sleep
Came like a slip
We thought it was a joke
Now it became a yoke.

Ezigbo nwanyi oma
It hurts to say, ijeoma
Your deep-sleep
Wounds our lips.

Wukari mourns you
St. Mary cries for you
Amiri in Orlu East in ashes
Ekwensu won't escape lashes.

Chibugo, ezigbo nwanyi oma
Madam Bakasi, gaa nke oma
Heaven hosts your soul
Indeed! You have a beautiful soul.

Onwu elebe ike gi di?
