A Promise Is A Promise

Cocamedo

Traces of you, embedded in me
No eyes ‘round the whole world
ever could see
Tangible only through spirit and soul
Finer than silver, more precious than gold

Could you grab my hand again, and tell me I could be your man
Then I would just lay down and die
No words could be sweeter, oh, how I long to meet her
Again, then bring me back to life

****** ***, I have a plan
That only you could understand
So listen up, I’ll tell you once more
Let me have the chance to be
the person that you saw in me
Return the love, the trust, and support

I’ll kiss you so sweet
from your head to your feet
And I will take the time to hear every word
I’ll make sure to see your love
And we’ll pray to God above
He’ll help us get through all the hurt

Can you make that sacrifice?
So I can help you realize
That who I am is not who I’ve been
I’m sorry for the worst of it
I choose to bury every bit
So I can be the best, once again

A promise is a promise
So can I be honest?
There is not a thing I won’t do
The air, the sea, a family tree
Is nothing, when not next to you

A statement of the other's value in rhyme. The value of another can not be overstated
