SOULFUL LONGING

Amogelang Mooketsi

SOULFUL LONGING

I yearn for love that's gentle as a breeze,
A love so pure, it feels my heart with ease.
No momentary passion, no fiery sparks,
But a calm, soothing love that leaves its mark.

I crave the love of days gone by
When hearts where pure and love did fly
No fifty-fifty situationships for me,
No screams, no quarrels, just harmony.

A love that's patient, kind, and true,
Obsessive, yet gentle, through and through.
A love that grows, that flourishes with age
together forever on every stage

A love that honors, worships, and respects,
Through every moment, every test.
No boundaries, no limits, just a heart
that beats for one, a love that never departs

Like grandparents of old, who grew in love
through laughter and tears, sent from above
A love that grows, that flourishes with age,
Together forever, on every stage.

May I find this love, this love of old,
A love that's gentle, brave, and worth more than gold.

A beautiful poem of idyllic love. When a person loves themselves in the same manner this love will appear. A wonderful write.

My Dad married my Mom, and even though she passed at 36 he stayed married to her the rest of his life. Not so much of that these days.
