Faucets

mixxedchixs

The running faucet

Stays the same

Its use, only for

People who don't think

Of what the faucet wants

On, off,

Gauge open, gauge closed

Retrieving the desired amount of water

No more, no less

The faucet obeys, for

It was made for this

Similar to women,

Who are taught as kids

In the songs

Movies

Social settings

That they are here

To provide the pleasures

That men can’t get on their own.

Originally,

Before she became a faucet,

She was free, running water.

But still,

She was contained by the

Edges and banks of

Rivers

Lakes

Streams

Brooks

And bends at every corner

Society has a way of capturing,

Infiltrating,

Us.

Women.

Who will help this change?

When will it change?

Will it?
