Winter I much Prefer

Sam.C

it's hot outside

i feel the sun beating down on me

the air's practically solid

there's no breeze to stir the air

it feels damp

the air feels like liquid

pooling in my lungs

as i breathe

and as i walk

the heat seems to follow

even in the shade

can't run

can barely walk

it's so hot

want to go outside

walk my dog

but the ground could burn his paws

i wanted to garden

but I'll wilt faster than the plants

it's too hot

I'm ready for autumn

for the chill of winter

ready for soups and a sweater

some prefer summer

for its heat and blinding rays

but give me winter

the cold, snow-filled days

winter and autumn, i much prefer.
