Death of Me

John Lee

Death of Me

I've buried your secrets as my sin

Your darkness is the tomb I'm in

You only love to fuel my hate

Or maybe it's me or is it fate

Looking for the signs to lead me back

Searching for a life to hang my hat

And so I bleed from the shattered terror

Of what I see from the broken mirror

To your image I've been molded

Can light still glow if it's broken

My cries return in my echo

Death comes carrying a halo

Whispers your secrets as my sin

Promising lies to let it in

Break your halo against my stone

Take your wrath out on my home

Killed everything that I've loved

Killed everything that I was

For burying your secrets as my sin

This poem has a sense of darkness to it, almost as if it was hiding in the shadows. Very nicely written.
