I will surely get back to you when I come online.
They are here,
Not longer there,
We thought it was
Happening there.
Sambisa was their home,
Sometimes, they pay
Courtesy visits to schools,
Mosques and churches.
They are highway heroes
Who walk shoulder high,
Rifles their hand bangles,
They ply the roads without fear.
Today, they are here with us,
Abuja-Kaduna roads weep blood,
Airports and railways,
Fearful zones.
Their crying guns
Their strength,
Strangers we are
In our homes,
Though Khakis are at their best.
Who are these devil's disciples?
They were our brothers,
But have decided
To dine and wine with Ekwensu.
Where have we gone wrong?
Why can't we quench this smoke?
The smoke saturates the streets
Wukari-Jalingo road, is tested.
Do we go for self defense
Just as a General advised?
Counting our beads in prayers
Have helped,
Prayers without works, are dead.

- Comment from author about the poem: The poem reflects on security insurgency in Nigeria 🇳🇬. The menace of security insurgency has ravage the country and has created fear, hunger and death. The people are not longer safe in their houses, farms and offices. On daily basis these highway heroes block roads and kidnap people traveling. For years now, Nigeria has been suffering from insecurity challenge that has retrogressed the economy growth of Nigeria. We hope the Nigeria government will find a lasting solution to this security menace that has dare to tear us apart as a country.
