I Can't Bear The Drum Anymore

mtrotter1

My heart is sweet

But the sound of love can be overbearing

Your eyes tell lies that are brilliant

Yet I adore them, with all my heart

And a part of me is ungrateful for these lies

I can't control myself

If love is overbearing,

The sweet sounds of lovemaking across the room

Shakes the chandeliers

And makes the earth shatter;

Oh memories, dearest memories

For when I write

The pen just flies

And the pages spin like a merry-go-round

Going round and round

Until the stars fade into the ground,

No one expects me to succeed!

And then there's you, a human revelry

With hands as smooth as diamonds

I can't bear the sea anymore

For it sounds like the drum

And the dreams just flow like wine

And I am waiting for my moment

To surrender to the sound

Of silence...

For silence is not chaos,

So what shall I do?

I shall profess my love to poetry

For it is more silent than the drum,

And you are the lover who never quits;

Oh what variations defend these dreams?

For there are a variation of drums in my mind

And I can't hold them anymore

I have to let go,

For life is a drum on a stage

Let us bare the piano

With our silent hands

And let us connect the dots

While the stars are still on the ground.

I can't bear the drum anymore

I can't bear the sound,

For my tears make an ocean

Therefore I shall swim;

And I shall swim far away

From the memories of you,

One day you will know

That I was true.
