At the other side of town
There’s a telephone ringing
Too, a dead man in a pool
This dead man had no children
But every child of every side of town knew the man
Too, he was very rich
In his life, he dated two dames
One at fourteen and one at thirty-two
Both had orange hair
The man wrote a poem for them each
For the first, he wrote
”Flower, springs on the rock,
Dear God, it’s wonderful”
And for the second, he wrote
”You sing my song, my love
Dear, you are my golden sun”
That was written down two days before she met another man
And then the man lay dead in a pool
