The returning point

Hooli

When I am dead, bury me

And if I sing, silence me.

Don’t woe over my life.

Or question the after life.

Don’t spread my story.

Or try to convince others I brought glory.

Just tell the world I lived.

And leave me buried in the sand.

I’ll forget I ever survived

Write me off like one of the damned

So I too, can wash away with the shore

  • Comment from author about the poem: Just a point of thought. Everyone wants to be remembered, but sometimes all I long for is to be forgotten. That’s what peace is probably like.

This poem carries a very uncommon view. It is very understandable and I can identify with it to a point. It is an important message written in poetic language that touches the heart.
