Mortgage Your Souls

rebellion_in_sanity

I want to be a raging storm
Storm that tears the masks
From those
Gutless, heartless, pathetic beasts
We revere like demi gods

They roam the corridors of power
With their heads in the cloud
Wear honesty and piety like natural skins
And no disguise

The beasts feed on griefs
 Of the common men
They arrive like celebrities,
Act so contrite
Offer hope and solace,
False and worthless,
To those in despair

In return, they ask for nothing
Only a mortgage of your soul
They forget to tell you,
It's a mortgage, which you can't clear
No matter how bold you were
