Don’t Jinx It

Cocamedo

If I say my hopes are low
Then you must say I’m lying
Truth be told, you are not wrong
A secret I can’t keep for long

You didn’t see me jump for joy
My pants just need adjusted
That wasn’t me who cracked a smile
You’re the one who’s in denial

I don’t struggle with depression
Or intrusive thoughts
I pride myself on keeping calm
Just don’t high-five my sweaty palm

These poems, I don’t write them
I just post them for a friend
Unless, of course, you feel the same
If that’s the case, I’m glad you came
