I want the world to know that I'm a Christian,
by the time that I leave this earth:
not measured by my goodness or mistakes,
or judged by what I'm worth.
When I leave here, and people reflect,
and look back on my story,
I want it to end with them knowing,
that I am in God's glory.
They will say, 'I know Dion was different.
I know that Dion was odd,
but one thing about Dion,
is he was a man of God.
He was far from perfect.
At times he may or may not have fell to temptation,
but one thing I cannot say,
is he didn't have salvation'.
That's how I want people to remember me.
That's the legacy I want left.
I know some may say I'm still young,
but one never knows,
when they will take their last breath.
So Lord let me live a life,
that will make others want to say,
'I too want to have salvation.
So I too can be with Christ one day'.

- Comment from author about the poem: I decided to write this piece after listening to an old song by Ralph Stanley. When he died, everyone said how he was a man of God. That is how I want to be remembered. Anyway... It led me to write this piece. - Christ is Real - Persistence is Key
