A new thread

Maplespal

She decided to go, to leave, to depart,

to start another life without her current name.

It had nothing to do with anyone breaking her heart,

she just didn’t want a life that was the same.

With repetitive moves she was stuck making,

same rotations of the days and the inconsistencies.

She always had to with her emotions keep faking,

trying to break away from her dependencies.

Freedom offered, from a life so stuck in a loop,

she stepped away and felt an emotional release.

Out from under the metaphorical chicken's coop,

communications with her past friends ceased.

Creating a new life, she forged ahead,

she walked, then ran towards a future unknown.

Within the strings of life, creating a new thread,

taking in all the new imagery her eyes were shown.

She looks back every now and then with glee,

happily, she now lives an amazingly good life.

All the dreams for her once too far to see,

now with 2 kids and a lover that calls her wife.
