I Long To Meet Me

rebellion_in_sanity

Sun has hidden his face
Moon too lazy to rise
That's the time, my friend,
When I see you in my mind

I See you in a riot of colours,
See you in all shades and hues
I marvel like an awestruck child
At your beauty, in grey, purple and blue

You are the one I live for
You are the face I love to see
You are a symbol of hope to me
In this time of disharmony

Now streetlamps light the path
The moon is shining bright
I lose your face in the crowd, my friend
Like a gambler loses all with a throw of dice

You are the one who chooses to believe
The good in all that you see
I envy your smile, my friend
You are the best I have in me

Maybe tomorrow I shall see you again
Maybe tomorrow we will say 'Hi'
Maybe tomorrow will come someday
I shall wait for that day, when we will unite

I believe many have this same desire, to find one's better self. Your poem expresses it boldly and colorfully. It is an excellent write. I thoroughly enjoyed it. - Phil A.
