ITS A LONG ROAD

nephilim56

Its a long road
With flashing memory
Cul de sacs
That lead no where.
An arching dream
Based in reality
Crunching footsteps
In the snow.

A searing summer
In the seventies
Lost and alone
No place to go.
Haunting
As the nightime
Step to step
Tears dried.

A smile that haloed
Your beauty bare
Were you real
Or merely breath
Upon the salute
Of yawning moonlight
Glittering stars
Or awkward step ?

Once a shadow
Cast in light
Of the scented
Falling day
Recollection
Bitter sweet
In the revolving
Door of fate.
