Satyam Thakur

A man I thought would be a meaningless fling,

Came in my life with his little sling.

His voice fresh as a river,

His touch making me shiver,

His embrace warmer than spring,

His lips, tender petals when blooming.

I showed him around,

In shallow waters and high ground,

He serenaded me on swings,

Never thought he’d tug on my heartstrings.

Be it a beach sandy, or a ridge rocky,

Or the winds mighty, being cocky,

His eyes ever like glitter glistening,

Him humming and me listening.

Not birds of a feather,

Never meant to be together,

Yet our hands holding,

Did fate serendipitously bring.

Indefinitely going away was he,

The exorbitant agony of parting,

But tragedy he made feel like poetry,

That my words now sing.
