Through The Glass (+1)

Kurt Philip Behm

Live in

the jungle

Exist

in the zoo

The cage

all consuming

When captive

... adieu

At risk

in the wild

Or safe

through the glass

All life in

the difference

To roar

— or to gasp

(The New Room: September, 2024)

Heaven's Gift

The eyes

of an eagle

the heart

of a lion

The soul

of a poet

the wealth

of a scion

The pain

of a martyr

the joy

of a smile

The love

of another

divinity’s

— child
