You don't tell me what to do!

Lil

Notice of absence from Lil
If I don't respond in a few minutes I am probably at School, sleeping, with family/ friends, or forgot to bring my device. Or grounded.

You yell at me to shut up

You say I'm not enough

I wont talk back

Because I'm afraid I'd get smacked

But I do it anyways because you don't tell me what to do

Yup I said it you don't tell me what to do

So stop trying you know i'm stubborn

You know I can take it

You know I've been through the same thing over and over again

You don't tell me what to do

Because I've been hurt too

Not just you, but me too.

  • Comment from author about the poem: For those who don't know. I have been through so much I never got to be a 5, 6 ,7 ,8 ,9, and a 10 year old girl and so its hard for me, but I just completely lost it when my parents used it against me say "Just because your an angry child and been hurt doesn't mean you can be this (basically that)" In which in my eyes aren't fair because that's what I am rn. And then they LOVEEE to tell me things they know I cannot handle at my age rn and sooooo this poem happened.

All part of growing up Lil. Putting your emotions into poetry is a great way to deal with it. At your age I didn’t write poetry. It came so much later. Never wrote a poem till I was 40. You have got a head start. Have a good Tuesday.
