You told her you loved her.
In those early days, you were gentle
She believed in your words,
Convinced you truly cared
Oh, how easily she fell for your charms,
Naïve, perhaps, to trust so deeply
She didn’t see the change coming,
she didn’t know your love was so shallow.
You were sweet until you weren’t,
Your tenderness turned cold,
All you wanted was something,
She wasn’t ready to give.
But you pressed on, insistent,
Ignoring her quiet hesitation.
When she finally said no,
You walked away, without a backward glance.
You left her empty,
Used, though you never touched her skin,
Your absence cut deeper,
Then any touch ever could.
