People said there was God
Never seen Him
But I believed
People said there were Leaders
Never could find them
But I believed
People eulogised workplaces
Where they didn't inject venom
Never found those places
But I believed
People said mentors could teach me
Never could find any
But I believed
People said bosses wished me well
Never felt it
But I believed
Heard stories of places, where
They wouldn't rob me of my dignity
Never could find one
But I believed
I believed and I believed
Will I spend my life believing
And, never be able to see?
I lead a cursed life,
A life with two eyes
But, I spend my life with blind beliefs

This is how some people live their lives. I ask myself if it is better to believe in something rather than nothing. An interesting write. First of yours I have read. Pleased I stopped by today. Needless to say, this is not how I operate. Nicely conveyed stanzas. Happy Thursday.
Hi Cassie, please accept my sincere thanks for taking the time to read and to leave your thoughts. I welcome the opportunity to communicate. I don't fancy myself as a poet - but poetry allows me to share my thoughts with many.
I often succumb to the temptations of my sarcastic side - this poem is an example of that. I have mocked the societal expectations by stating my conformance over and over. Apologies for the misdirection. My other poems are free from sarcasm (if you happen to read any). Thanks again Bhaskar
Lovely to hear from you Bhaskar and no need for any apology. Poetry can be so subjective. Often many interpretations from one piece. It was a delight to read you. Thank you.
Thank you very much 🙏
